ResNexus vs SquareSpace

ResNexus websites are built by our web designers and maintained by you. We provide the initial design based and SEO optimized website for only $80 per month and setup fees start at $499. Once built and live you are free to update, create, or change your website’s content whenever you’d like.

Squarespace gives you the platform and tools to build the website yourself for anywhere from $12-$40. However, they don’t provide any of the actual design or building of the website which can take days or weeks. In addition, you could be left with a site that doesn’t look or function like you want if you don’t know the ins and outs of the SquareSpace builder.

We design your website for you, which means you'll have more time to spend for other aspects of your business. You won't spend hours pouring over instructional resources.

Designing your own website can quickly turn into a nightmare. You may end up spending hours reading help articles and watching walkthrough videos, only to be left with a website you aren't happy with. Even if you design a great website, was the time spent worth it?

We provide a professional designed, ADA compliant, SEO enhanced website at a fraction of what other companies charge. We continue providing support for our website builder and your design once your site is live.

Hiring a 3rd party Squarespace web designer can cost anywhere from $500-$2000 depending on size and quality of the website. This cost can be prohibitive in some cases, and your designer may no longer be available once the build is complete.

The ResNexus web builder lets us start with a blank page, meaning your layout, sizes, text settings, and colors are completely customizable. While we do have helpful templates for web designers in the making (you), we allow for the freedom to design from scratch so your website can stand out.

Squarespace offers an impressive library of templates to start from, but your ability to change the look and feel of any given template is limited. Building sites from templates can be faster, but it leads to thousands of websites across the internet looking very similar. In addition, sometimes the fonts used in the design cost extra.

When we create your website, we automatically create a backup for it. If you do need to leave ResNexus, we'll send you a zip file containing your content and the HTML code that constitutes your website.

Squarespace allows you to download your xml file and export the content of your website, but you’ll have to back up and save your images and other elements of your website if you want to make sure you can truly restore your site with this data. It’s a time consuming process.

ResNexus captures and saves your website each time you hit publish. This means you’ll have the ability to roll back your website to before any changes were made. You’ll also be able to see who published your site and when.

Squarespace doesn’t currently have any revision history features at this time, so if you delete something like a page or text, it’s likely gone forever.

ResNexus website builder has a built-in media library that stores photos, video, and files all in one place. It’s easy to add or switch out photos and videos and provide links to files. Our Media library also makes filenames and alt titles easy to add.

Squarespace doesn’t have a traditional media library. Instead, users must use links to files and upload images each time they go to place one on their website. This can make the process of adding and changing pictures and other media files slow and tedious.

Our support staff are available from 4 AM to 5 PM MST Monday through Friday. We also provide an emergency after hours support number. When you call in to ResNexus for support, one of our friendly support agents will answer your questions and help you with all your website needs. Of course, we also offer support over email, and Facebook.

If you have concerns about your website, you can’t call Squarespace. They do offer chat, email, and twitter support, but you can’t speak to a live person, even if something goes very wrong with your website. Chat is only available during certain hours of the week.

Once we’re done building your website, we’ll train you on how to start making changes and additions yourself. We do an initial training and are available to help at any point after your website goes live at no cost to you!

SquareSpace has a helpful support section with videos and articles, but doesn’t offer any one-on-one training unless you pay extra.
