They can click any unit to see expanded availability, or select a dropdown menu for rate type options, but there’s only one “Book Now” or "Add" button for each listing. In addition, your guest has the option of shopping by a sidebar special or package first and then selecting the site—a ResNexus-only feature!

Depending on how the property chooses to set their rate settings, the Newbook booking engine provides many different booking buttons for the traveler to parse, especially when they’re just trying to select an individual unit. Newbook does not recommend or provide multiple button options as part of their initial setup. However, unlike the ResNexus booking engine, Newbook does not prevent this option from occurring on their user interface.

ResNexus displays your top retail offers and specials to potential guests right from the start. In addition, your retail items are shown again on a separate callout page once the guest selects a campground or site.

Newbook doesn’t have retail sidebars on the first landing page of their booking engine. Retail items are not shown until after site selection. That means your guests won’t be able to see what specials, packages, or retail items you have available until after they choose a unit to book.

In addition to sidebars on the first page, your guest is shown your add-ons again after they select the unit and before payment is collected. Retail items can give your business thousands in additional revenue and enhance your guests' stay. ResNexus allows your guest to select multiple retail items without having to hit a back button.

The Newbook booking engine does display specials, packages, and retail items after the guest has selected a unit. However, unlike ResNexus, the guest can’t select multiple items at once; they’ll have to backtrack for each one they add.

The ResNexus Guest Portal allows guests to check in, check out, message your staff, view reservation details, and more! The best part is there’s no app required. All the guest has to do is click the link or scan the QR code, then input their reservation and phone number!

Newbook has a guest mobile app called GuestAssist which has some impressive functions, but it does require the guest to download the app in order to use them.

In the event the guest cannot make their reservation due to a wide variety of unforeseen illnesses or health conditions, they can apply for a 100% booking reimbursement any time up to 14 days before the departure date or up to 30 days after. The automated Travel Protection refund portal looks like your online booking engine and helps reduce the headache of managing the administration of refund processing. In addition, much of the refund or reimbursement process is automatically handled by ResNexus on your behalf. This reduces back-and-forth phone calls or emails with the guest during the cancellation process. The automated Travel Protection portal also lets the guest reschedule and change dates if necessary.

Newbook does integrate with a Travel Guarantee service that can be purchased through the Newbook booking engine. Unlike ResNexus, the guest will need to contact the Travel Protection provider to request a refund or request a change of dates.

During the booking process, your policies stand out because ResNexus uses a simple step-by-step progression throughout the reservation process. ResNexus allows you to call out or highlight the most important policies for your campers to know. In addition, you can require a signature or not.

The guest will have to click the small link at the bottom of the checkout page to view your policies and terms and conditions. This means they might not be aware of your restrictions and rules regarding pets, equipment, and use of your facilities, which can cause friction with the guest experience.

ResNexus does not try to co-brand with your property. When a guest books online, the only indication of what system they’re using is the top-notch booking engine layout and design.

At every stage of the online booking process, the guest will see “powered by newbook” alongside the listings and reservation details.
